The 22nd edition of Pollutec, which
was held at Lyon Eurexpo (France),
from November 28th to December 1st, 2006, attracted a total of:

» 67,326 visitors (compared with
   65,099 in 2004) including 7,579   
   international visitors (compared
   with 6,901 in 2004)

With increases of:

» 3,4 % in terms of total number
  of visitors
» 10 % in terms of number of
   international visitors

Pollutec became more diverse in 2008 and was marked by a steep rise in the number of specifiers, construction and transport professionals. The change in the nature of the visitors was reflected in a broader spread of visitor interests favouring such new sectors as Energy, Sustainable Building, Sustainable Development, Ethical Buying, Health or Marine Pollution.

Energy was a prime interest for 39.7% of the visitors. This is a sector that has enjoyed very rapid growth at the show since 2004 and its presence now revolves around four main themes:

• renewables (19.5%), energy saving and efficiency (13.4%), combating greenhouse gases (3.5%) and urban mobility (3.3%).

• By bringing together 8,422 professionals drawn from 110 countries Pollutec confirmed its position as the world's leading event for the environment market with an 11% increase in the number of foreign visitors compared with 2006.
